Irish Bacon Fried Cabbage | 25 Minute Recipe

When it comes to dinner, we put a lot of effort into mains, but we don't get our sides enough credit. They snuggle up close to our main pairing so nicely with them. This salty savory side dish is quick yet so delicious. When cabbage is fried with bacon your whole family will love it because after all bacon is life.

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 20 Minutes

Total Time: 25 Minutes

Serves: 4-6 people


Ingredients:

- Cabbage (1/2 medium, chopped)

- Bacon (4-5 slices, chopped)

- Onion (1 medium, diced)

- Italian Seasoning (1 Tbsp)

- Garlic (3 cloves, minced)

- Salt and Pepper (to taste)

- Parsley (to garnish)


Directions:

1. In a large frying pan, on medium high heat, cook bacon 3/4 was the way through. Chop and set aside. Using the bacon grease as oil, add the onion and cabbage. Saute for 15 minutes or until tender.

2. Add garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Stir constantly for another 5 minutes, making sure the garlic does not burn. Serve Immediately.
