Smoked Butter Chicken Pizza | Butter Chicken Recipe | How To Make Butter Chicken

Smoked Butter Chicken has always been one of my all-time go-to comfort foods. That rich creamy velvet sauce that literally has me saying Mmmmmmm at the dinner table. In this butter chicken recipe, I show you how to make both butter chicken and also use leftovers for pizza night. I used flatbread pizza, but you can also use your leftover Naan or regular pizza dough (use as directed on packaging ie: temperature and time). This smoked butter chicken pizza was done on my Louisiana Grills Black Label with a pizza stone. When you are preheating your pellet smoker, make sure you heat up your pizza stone to ensure your crust is extra crispy.

- CHICKEN - With this butter chicken recipe, you can decide whether or not you want to use chicken breasts or chicken thighs. I always ensure I make sure I get Canadian chicken to support Chicken Farmers of Canada as well as our economy. Smoked butter chicken pizza is better if your smoke your chicken first, but you can certainly also do it in your oven at the same temperature listed on my Louisiana Grills Black Label pellet smoker. For this cook, I used Pitmasters Choice Premium Pellets, Fruit Blend.

THE RUB

Gram Marsala (1/2 Tbsp)

Tumeric (1/2 Tbsp)

Cumin (1/2 Tbsp) Chili Powder (1 Tbsp)

Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Directions: Combine all seasonings in a small bowl and stir thoroughly. Coat both sides chicken and marinate for 30 minutes to 24 hours before generously rub and toss chicken wings and refrigerate.

Smoke: How to make butter chicken pizza is to smoke your chicken that will go on your pizza. This will give it that extra smoked taste you'll love. Once cooked, chop up into big chunks to lay on your pizza.

THE SAUCE

Onion (small, finely diced)

Butter (1 Tbsp)

Spaghetti Sauce (1 cup)

Garlic (1 Clove, minced)

Cream (2 Tbsp)

GramMarsala (1/4 Tbsp)

Tumeric (1/4 Tbsp)

Chili Powder (1/2 Tbsp)

Cumin (1/4 Tbsp)

Directions: While your butter chicken is smoking, get the sauce ready for your pizza. In a small pot, add butter and onions. Cook until translucent. Add all the garlic and seasonings and cook for about 1 minute. Cook on medium for 5-10 minutes. Stirring frequently.

Assemble: Layer a thin coat of your butter chicken sauce on your desired pizza dough. Then add your chopped pizza. I like to add my cheese last as it secures all your toppings. Smoke on your pellet smoker for 15 minutes.
