BACON AND ONION SCALLOPED POTATOES RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

Potatoes (6-8 medium, Yellow Potatoes) Onions (1 medium) Bacon (4 slices) Flour (1 Tbsp)

Garlic (2 cloves, minced)

Italian Seasoning (1/2 Tbsp) Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Milk (1 cup) Cheese (marble, 1/4 cup) INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat your grill or oven to 400 degrees. Using a medium size baking dish begin your bacon and onion scalloped potato recipe by slicing your potatoes and onions. Using a mandoline thinly slice your potatoes and submerge them into cold water. Let the starch remove for 30 minutes. Slice your onions and set aside.

Now let's make our scalloped potato sauce. Using a small sauce pan, cut up your bacon into thin strips and cook. Once crispy, remove the bacon bits but leave the bacon grease in the pan. Make a roux by using the bacon grease and add your flour and garlic. Stir on medium/low heat for 5 minutes, stirring consistently. Next add your cheese, salt and pepper and combine. Now slowly add your milk and stir until a thick consistency.

Dry your potatoes, and begin layering your bacon and onion scalloped potatoes. Potatoes, then a layer of onions, then another layer of potatoes. Do this until filled.
