I've perfected my prime skills via oven so I had high expectations when trying to smoke this bad boy. Knowing I wanted a full bodied flavor with a thick crust, I went with a thick butter onion herb blend and marinaded for 24 hours. Ugh, can you say drool?
Ingredients: - Butter (1/2 cup softened) - Olive Oil (1/2 cup) - Paprika (1 Tbsp)
- Italian Seasoning (1 Tbsp) - Parsley (1 Tbsp) - Onion (1 medium, roughly chopped) Directions: 1. Add all ingredients to your blender. Pulse on a low-medium speed until smooth. 2. Rub generously all over your prime rib and let marinade for 8-24 hours in your refridgerator. 3. Preheat your smoker to 350 degrees. Placing your prime rib, fat side up, in a roasting pan. Add some beef brother to the bottom of the roasting pan for some flavor and moisture. Smoke for 2 hours or until an internal temperate of 125 degrees.
4. Remove and let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
