Updated: Oct 3, 2022

Beer Can Cauliflower gets a steam bath from the inside out while getting crispy on the outside. The beer creates a sweet taste that will change the way you do BBQ cauliflower again. I originally came up with the idea while doing a beer can chicken and BBQ cauliflower steaks, and decided to shock you all with these incredible smoked cauliflower recipe.

For this smoked cauliflower recipe, we steamed it from the inside and basted/coated the exterior with a garlic butter bath. My family was so pleasantly surprised how delicious this BBQ cauliflower and is now in dinner rotation in our house.

I put a spell on you, with this purple themed smoked cauliflower recipe. Halloween Food does not have to be traditional. You can think outside the box, create what you family enjoys to eat, with all the fun colours.

BEER CAN CAULIFLOWER RECIPE

What-You'll-Need

- Beer Can (I used Wellingtons Brewery IPA)

PREP TIME: 10 Minutes

COOK TIME: 30 Minutes (approximately)

TOTAL TIME: 40 Minutes

SERVES: 4-6

GRILL TEMP: 375 Degrees

INGREDIENTS:

Cauliflower (Whole head, leaves removed) Beer Can

Butter (1/2 cup)

Garlic (2 cloves, minced) Italian Seasoning (1 tsp)

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat your pellet grill to 375 degrees. For this beer can cauliflower, I used my Louisiana Grills Founders Premier 1200. While your grill is preheating, prepare your beer can cauliflower. Remove all the green leaves from the base of your cauliflower. I did cut my stem slightly so it was flush with the main.

For this smoked cauliflower recipe, using a sharp knife, I cut the top right off of a beer can. This created a sharp edge that my cauliflower could stick right onto. Carefully holding the structure of the can with one hand, and the cauliflower with the other, I gently pushed the cauliflower steam portion right onto the sharp beer can.

Place your beer can cauliflower directly on the grill - positioning your beer can not to fall on your grill grates (you can also place on a pan). While your BBQ cauliflower is grilling, approximately every 10 minutes baste the exterior with your melted butter/garlic/Italian seasoning mixture.

Once your cauliflower is to the softness of your liking (I like my cauliflower just slightly soft - so use this as your time guide) remove from grill using oven gloves, remove from the beer can, and slice. Serve Immediately.
